In simple terms, the primary trend is the dominant trend. There can be a primary trend in the stock market, gold, bonds, wheat and etc.
The primary trend does not indicate a period of steady movements in one direction that are uninterrupted by movements in the opposite direction.
Primary trends can last for months, years or decades.
Primary Bull Market: Two steps up with one step down scenario, repeated over a period of time... This will occur with progressively higher highs and progressively higher lows. That is one way to describe a primary bull market (Up market).
Primary Bear Market Two steps down with one step up scenario, repeated over a period of time... This will occur with progressively lower lows and progressively lower highs. Its primarily a down market...the opposite of a primary bull market.
