GNMA:
GNMA (Government National Mortgage Association) is a U. S. government
corporation that guarantees the payment of interest and principle on certain
mortgage loans.
Ginnie Mae is another name for the Government National Mortgage
Association (GNMA).
Ginnie Mae purchases home mortgages from financial institutions and
markets them to investors as mortgage backed securities.
Ginnie Mae securities are the only mortgage backed security that are
guaranteed by the full faith and credit of the U. S. Government.
