What is Private Mortgage Insurance?
Private Mortgage Insurance:
An insurance policy that protects mortgage lenders from losses if a
borrower fails to make payments as agreed.

It is usually required on mortgage loans when buyers make a down
payment less than 20%.

Although Private Mortgage Insurance protects the lender, it is paid monthly
by the borrower.

It enables borrowers to purchase a home with a lower down payment.
